Addison dressed up as Dorothy this year for Halloween, and had a great time trick-or-treating! We met up with her cousins for some pizza before hand, and then made the rounds in the neighborhood.
Addison turned 2 on October 7th! We celebrated her birthday with a party at Build-A-Bear this past weekend, and she had so much fun with her family and friends. The only part she did not care for was the group picture :)
It's that time of year again! McKinney Oktoberfest was this past weekend. Scott, Addison, Gwynn and Tiffany were the only ones that could make it this year, so we definitely missed all the others that usually join us! Addison had fun eating her pretzel, watching the German dancers, and petting some animals in the petting zoo.
During our circuit of festivals, we went back to the Greek Festival for the first time since Addison was born. This year, Monty & Pop joined us. Addison had a great time eating her pita bread and watching the Greek dancers. Opa!
We decided to check out the Plano Balloon Festival this year for the first time. It started early at 6:45 a.m., and unfortunately the balloons were not able to take off due to the weather. Addison enjoyed looking at all of them, and playing with Brinley, Tyce & Hudson.
I have become addicted to Pinterest lately (like almost everyone I know), and it inspired me to make a new fall wreath for our front door. I bought the wreath from Home Goods, which included everything but the ribbon and letter. My mom helped make the bow and tie the ribbon around, and then I painted a wooden G with brown and gold polka dots.
Last weekend, we ventured out to the Italian Car Festival in Grapevine. Addison enjoyed looking at all the fancy cars, but not as much as Scott probably did. :) Afterward, we enjoyed lunch at Rainforest Cafe. Addison wasn't too sure about those gorillas that danced every once in a while, but she enjoyed playing with the smoke and rain behind our table.
Addison had a great 4th of July! We kicked off the weekend with a parade and cookout that our neighborhood put on, and then came back to the pool on Monday for swimming, hot dogs and home made ice cream. Addison was excited to have Ben come visit us for the weekend and join in on the festivities.
Addison has had a blast so far this summer in the pool! The only negative to moving was that we no longer have a pool at our house, but she has enjoyed the two neighborhood pools and most recently, a baby pool in our backyard.
Addison had a great 2nd Christmas this year! She loved playing with all her new toys from family and Santa. We celebrated for 3 days, with pizza and gifts at Monty & Pop's, Christmas Eve at Aunt Sue & Uncle G's, and then Christmas Day at Monty & Pop's.
In November, we took an extended weekend trip to visit our friends, Fred & Cathy, in Toronto, Canada! We had a great time, and got to see the CN tower, Niagara Falls and spend some time tasting Ice Wine in the Niagara on the Lake area.
